Museums in small communities face an uncertain future, but these places are also uniquely situated to adapt to the current moment.

The Hudson Valley is home to a rich history and diverse cultural life, and the museums that have long told our stories now need your help. Show your appreciation for your local museum, historic site, library, and more by joining the #SupportHVMuseums campaign.

Ways to Give

There are many ways to show your support to Historic Huguenot Street:

  • Make a donation.

Your gift will go directly toward protecting this National Historic Landmark District, including its seven historic stone houses and the 14,000 artifacts and manuscripts in our collection. Donations also provide critical support to our educational programs, public tours, and community events and help us continue to uncover and interpret even more about our slice of American history.

  • Become a member.

Members fuel our mission of preserving and sharing the stories of our special Huguenot settlement. Join now and become a vital part of the history on Huguenot Street.

  • Shop online.

Take home your own piece of the street from our Museum Shop. Discover unique local interest and artisan gifts, including fine art, jewelry, books, and home goods. Plus, members get 10-15% off online and in store.

Other Ways to Show Your Support

We understand that this is a critical moment for our community, and that not everyone may have the financial resources to give. Here are some other ways to support Historic Huguenot Street and your favorite cultural institutions:

  • Like and share our posts.

Museum staff is working around the clock to bring you new and engaging online content. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, and like and share our posts with the hashtags #MuseumsFromHome and #SupportHVMuseums.

  • Recommend our online programming to educators teaching from home.

Our school programs have been recognized by the state for adhering to the leading educational and cultural standards, and we'd love for you to share our digital programming, online videos, and more with educators who need help teaching students from home. (Also, we will soon roll out a series of virtual field trip experiences and resources that we would love for you to share with your students and fellow educators. Stay tuned!)

  • Send us your favorite memories.

We’d love to see programs you’ve attended in the past that really stuck with you, a collection piece or exhibit that you loved, a picnic you had on our grounds that made for a really good day, or something new or interesting that you learned at HHS.

  • Show us your merch!

Whether you bought a new puzzle to put together, ordered a children’s book you saw on our Monday “Let’s Read Together!” series, or have a vintage HHS sweatshirt from the shop, we’d love to see your swag! Post a picture and share it on the Museum Shop’s Facebook and Instagram feeds.
