NEW PALTZ, NY - At a press conference in the LeFevre House Thursday morning, February 27, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein recognized Huguenot Street as a vital Ulster County landmark and offered congratulations for its new strategic planning process, which promises to lay the foundation for years of preservation, education, and expansion.

Guided by Dr. Taylor Stoermer, Director of Strategy, Development, and Historic Interpretation, the members of the Strategic Planning Committee come from across the Hudson Valley and the country with backgrounds in tourism, site planning and management, and creative programming. The strategic planning committee will guide Historic Huguenot Street through an evaluation of the organization's mission, goals and vision.

Over 2014, Historic Huguenot Street will refresh the entire guest experience, including new methods of interpretation, an expanded range of public programming and other events, a greater attention to historical foundations, and broader community involvement. With staff expansion and targeted investments, Huguenot Street aims for greater visibility and visitation as the strategic planning process commences.
