Archie the Archives Bat Presents: Bat Awareness Day

In honor of Endangered Species Day (and inspired by our friend, Archie the Archives Bat), we're dedicating a day to learning about bats. Join Archie, the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, and beloved children's book author and illustrator Barbara Bash for an educational and fun day at Historic Huguenot Street.

At 1pm in the LeFevre House, the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will be giving a presentation on bats and will lead us in a bat-inspired craft, followed by a bat house building workshop* on the LeFevre lawn at 2pm.

At 3:30pm, we'll return to the LeFevre House for a presentation by Barbara Bash. Not only will Bash be doing a live illustration of our friend Archie the Archives Bat, she will also be signing copies of her children's book "Shadows of the Night: The Hidden World of a Little Brown Bat."

Adults $20, children 12 and under $15. Members $5. Admission includes access to tours and interpretations of our historic stone homes throughout the day.

*To participate in the bat house building workshop, pre-registration is required. An additional $25 is needed the day of the workshop, which will be accepted as cash or check made payable to the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum. Registration is limited - to register, please contact Kara Gaffken, Director of Public Programming, at kara@huguenotstreet.org.
