Walking Tour Mobile App
Historic Huguenot Street has launched a new mobile app to guide visitors on a free walking tour of the National Historic Landmark District. Mobile users can download the app for free on both the App Store® and Google Play™ by searching “Historic Huguenot Street.”
The Historic Huguenot Street Walking Tour app highlights the histories of the historic houses on the street with background information and archival photos, as well as photos of the house interiors and the collections pieces within. It also spotlights watercolor paintings of the houses by well-known Hudson Valley landscape painter Kevin Cook, a Historic Huguenot Street volunteer and resident. The tour features the Crispell Memorial French Church and all seven historic house museums, including those not currently open to the public, the Freer House, the Abraham Hasbrouck House, and the 1799 LeFevre House.
Development of the app was made possible in part through support from the County of Ulster’s Ulster County Cultural Services & Promotion Fund administrated by Arts Mid-Hudson. Narration was provided by Arts Mid-Hudson Board Chair Grace Angela Henry, a talented screen, stage, and voice actor.
