Historic Huguenot Street is happy to announce its first ever photography contest. The natural beauty of Historic Huguenot Street is widely appreciated in the Hudson Valley and beyond and visitors and residents frequently take photographs of the grounds and capture the spirit of our collective past. Contest winners will be featured in the National Historic Landmark District’s 2018 wall calendar, as well as in an exhibition in the historic DuBois Fort. Photographers of all age levels are welcome to submit. Photos may be submitted at any time and the contest’s winners will be announced in October. All submissions are due by September 1, 2017.
Photographs are requested in the following categories: Buildings & Landscapes, People & Community, Details & Collections, or Young Photographers.
Buildings & Landscapes: The historic stone buildings and changing landscape along Huguenot Street inspire many throughout the seasons. Capture the elegance and mood of the site in various weather and times of day.
People & Community: Huguenot Street serves as a gathering space for area residents and visiting tourists. Show how audiences enjoy the site in a variety of ways, from quiet walks with family and/or pets to attending HHS’s popular signature events such as the annual Cider Market and Community Tree Lighting.
