Tewrilliger HouseTerwilliger House @ Locust Lawn

The first portion of the Dutch farmhouse of Evert and Sara Freer Terwilliger was built in 1738 on 600 acres which Sara had inherited from her father, Hugo, son of the New Paltz Patentee of the same name. Enlarged by their son Jonathan in 1764, it was purchased by Josiah Hasbrouck for inclusion in his Locust Lawn property in 1803. The house was purchased by the Terwilliger Family Association in 1974 and donated for use as a house musem.
