Gallery
Exhibits
In
addition to historic house museums, the Historic Huguenot
Street operates two galleries: the Howard Hasbrouck
Grimm Gallery in Deyo Hall and the DuBois Fort Gallery.
The
Howard Hasbrouck Grimm Gallery was founded in 1976 by
Roland Grimm, as a memorial to his father, Howard Hasbrouck
Grimm. Revolving exhibits highlight artwork and objects
from the HHS Permanent Collections. The gallery is preparing
for the opening of A Notion to Sew, which will
feature the extensive handiwork of Hylah Hasbrouck and
her daughters at Locust Lawn. The show will open
in May 2008.
The
DuBois Fort Gallery was founded in 2000, when the DuBois
Fort reopened as the Huguenot Historical Society's Visitor
Center. It is a changing exhibit space, currently showing
Huguenot Street: An American Story, an
orientation exhibit for visitors, and an exhibit on the
DuBois Family and exploring your own family history called
Links to the Past: Discovering History with the DuBois
Family. The DuBois Fort Gallery is open Tuesdays
through Sundays from 10am to 5pm, May through October.
For
further information about either of these galleries please
