Art of the Street: A Walking Talk and Tour with Artist Kevin Cook

Saturday, September 17th, 4pm

As part of New Paltz Third Saturdays, Local artist and Huguenot Street resident Kevin Cook will lead a special tour of the site. Many know Historic Huguenot Street for its iconic stone houses, but what many don’t know is that the organization has over 6,500 items in its collections, including a diversity of artwork. Cook will talk about art found in the museum houses, which feature works by Asher Durand, DuBois Fenelon Hasbrouck and others.

Free. Contributions appreciated

Tour starts at the DuBois Fort Visitor Center, 81 Huguenot Street

255.1889 or 1660  |  www.huguenotstreet.org

Landscape painter Kevin Cook was recently named a Painting Fellow by New York Foundation for the Arts, and has subsequently been invited to serve on NYFA’s Artist’s Advisory Committee. Kevin’s work has been exhibited internationally and is currently on exhibit in galleries throughout New York State. Kevin is a guest educator at the Samuel Dorsky Museum in New Paltz.

On view on through October 31st

Dusk to Dawn

Unison Arts Center is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching cultural life and community in the Mid-Hudson Valley by making high quality arts, performances and educational programs accessible to all.

Stop by for a walk, or bring a picnic, and enjoy our Sculpture Garden, an invitational show featuring the work of a group of extraordinary, established, and emerging artists. This year's exhibition includes over 50 new works by many of the artists that have participated in past years as well as sculptures by several new artists.

We are located in a lovely rural setting just 1 mile from the Village of New Paltz, NY on the road to Mohonk Mountain House. For additional information, visit our website www.unisonarts.org or call (845) 255-1559. The garden is open dawn to dusk.
