Volunteer Opportunities at Historic Huguenot Street

Consider sharing your love of the Hudson Valley and its history and architecture by becoming a volunteer or intern.

  • Lead visitors on tours of the historic homes.
  • Interact with the guests in the Visitors Center and Museum Shop.
  • Investigate genealogy, history, and other topics in the library.
  • Assist the curator with the management of our collections.
  • Celebrate with us at special events such as Old New Paltz Day.

No previous knowledge is necessary and all training is provided. Just bring your enthusiasm and sense of humor.

Benefits of being a volunteer or intern:

  • Membership- Volunteers who complete 10 hours of service annually are entitled to a 20% discount in the Museum Shop and receive the HHS newsletter, On Huguenot Street.
  • Expand Your Mind- Learn about the history of New Paltz and the development of American society and culture.
  • Share - You will have the opportunity to meet new and interesting people and share with them your love of the Hudson Valley.

If you have any interest in history or working with the public, we can tailor the activities to meet your needs, abilities and desires.

All are welcome!
