Museum Shop Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening

  • The Museum Shop 81 Huguenot Street New Paltz United States (map)

Historic Huguenot Street will re-open its Museum Shop to the public on Saturday, May 2, with a ribbon cutting (10 am) and a champagne reception in the DuBois Fort, 81 Huguenot Street. The Museum Shop has been completely redesigned for 2015, and carries a variety of new, locally-produced products in addition to many historically-inspired items. Enjoy 10% off all HHS-branded items throughout the day.

The Shop will be stocked with a host of new home goods and gifts, including hand-made silver jewelry from Hudson Valley Goldsmith (exclusive to Historic Huguenot Street), chocolates from Krause's of Saugerties and Oliver Kita of Rhinebeck, children’s toys from Maileg of Denmark, and bath and body products from Secret Garden Soap of Madison (New Jersey). The Museum Shop is also now the exclusive area retailer of Beekman 1802, goat milk bath and body goods by “The Fabulous Beekman Boys.” In addition, the shop will carry an updated selection of textiles, throws, yellowware pottery, pewter, mercury glass, candles, and more.

In honor of the Grand Opening, food historian Peter Rose and local chef Agnes Devereux (The Village Tea Room Restaurant & Bake Shop) have collaborated on “Huguenot Snaps,” a colonial ginger snap-style recipe from the Historic Huguenot Street archives. These exclusive cookies will be available in the Museum Shop, only on May 2.
